Nearly 130 oral communications have been selected for presentation during the 17th IWGP. Most of them will be read in the main amphitheatre of the Natural History Museum, located within the Botanical Garden (GAM).
The lectures are organized within geographic and/or thematic sessions: Europe, SW Asia, E Asia, Americas, Africa, ethnobotany, hunter-gatherers, DNA, isotopes, islands, tree management, food, ritual (see planning). There will be one single session on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. On Wednesday there will be two parallel sessions part of the day as well as the whole day Thursday. Parallel sessions will be organised in the Botanical Garden too, no more than a few minutes walk from the main amphitheatre.
Each oral presentation should last no more than 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for questions. The official languages of the conference are English, French, German and Spanish. Note however that there will be no simultaneous translation of papers.
